Is this our new Baywatch babe? Livvy Dunne set to make acting debut in reboot
Former LSU gymnast, influencer and model Olivia “Livvy” Dunne is ready to take the next step in her career. This time, it’s not about gymnastics or social media, but about Hollywood. Dunne has been cast in a reboot of the classic TV series Baywatch.
The project is in development at Fox and marks Dunne’s first professional acting role. She will have a recurring role on the series, playing the character Grace – an energetic and enthusiastic junior lifeguard.
From gymnastics star to Hollywood
Livvy Dunne first became known as a gymnast at Louisiana State University, where she also built a huge following on social media. With millions of fans on both TikTok and Instagram, she has developed into one of the most well-known sports influencers in the United States.
After ending her gymnastics career in April 2025, she began taking acting lessons, according to several media outlets. The role in Baywatch will therefore be her official debut in front of the camera as an actress.
It will also be her biggest attempt to establish herself in the entertainment industry outside of the world of sports.
Influencers fill the new Baywatch
The upcoming Baywatch series brings together a cast in which social media plays a fairly large role. Several of the series’ cast members have massive online followings.
Among the names that have already been announced are Noah Beck, Shay Mitchell and Brooks Nader. Together, they have millions of followers across various platforms, which clearly shows that the production is focusing on a modern version of Baywatch with a strong online presence.
Classic Baywatch universe returns

The series builds on the universe of the original Baywatch, which became a global TV sensation in the 1990s with David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson in the lead.
In the reboot, the story follows the character Hobie Buchannon, who now works as a Baywatch captain – in the footsteps of his father, the legendary Mitch Buchannon. Hobie’s life is turned upside down when his daughter Charlie suddenly appears and wants to continue the family’s lifesaving tradition.
Actor Stephen Amell stars as Hobie in the new series.
A familiar face returns
The reboot will also bring back a familiar face from the original series. Actor David Chokachi will return as Cody Madison, whom many fans will remember from the classic Baywatch series.
The series is expected to premiere on Fox in the 2026-2027 television season.
Meanwhile, Livvy Dunne continues to expand her career outside of sports. Earlier this year, she was also announced as a partner in the Tom Brady-backed athleisure brand No Bull.
